Well, welcome back, my friends, to the studio here at Faith Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

Appreciate you joining us all across the world over the past few weeks, but it is good to be home.

And I think the sound quality will be a bit better because we're in a controlled environment.

So thanks for your flexibility. We're in Matthew

chapter six, big red letter section of the New Testament. Of course, the red letters are essentially

just quotation marks. So whenever you see red letters in your Bible, you know that these are

words that Jesus spoke out loud.

It doesn't make those words any more important than other words in the Bible.

But it is helpful to know that these are words that Jesus spoke.

This is a message that Jesus preached.

And it's been a joy just to revisit it, at least for me. We're in Matthew 6 and we're

talking about the importance of doing God's will in God's way with the right heart motive.

And I think we talked yesterday a bit about how motives matter. It's not just doing the right thing

perfunctorily. It's a matter of the heart. And Jesus emphasized the heart all throughout this

message and all throughout his ministry. And we talked a bit yesterday about the way that we give as we give and do righteous

acts for the poor. Are we doing so out of a heart of love and sincerity, knowing that our
