0:10.6	We have a bunch of drama this morning coming out of the Senate, some good, some bad, and some ugly behavior for Mitch McConnell, which is hardly news. Let's start with an easy story. The articles of impeachment were ceremoniously delivered to the Senate last night by the House impeachment managers and the trial is still slated to begin on February 8th.
0:30.0	Unlike with Trump's last impeachment trial, I can't believe we're talking about a last impeachment trial,
0:35.0	where Chief Justice John Roberts presided, this one will be presided over by Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy.
0:42.0	The reason for this is that the Constitution does not
0:44.6	obligate the Chief Justice to preside because the subject of the trial, aka Trump,
0:48.8	is no longer president. Leahy was chosen because he is the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, which is a fancy term for the role of the longest sitting senator.
0:56.4	The President Pro Tempore is also third in line of the presidential succession after the House Speaker.
1:00.9	But I don't remember any of this being mentioned in Schoolhouse Rock.
1:07.1	If you're following Senate news, you've probably heard some chatter about a little thing called
1:10.8	the filibuster.
1:12.2	As you know, the Democrats were technically elected to hold the Senate majority, but before
1:16.2	that majority can actually take hold, the Senate has to pass something called an organizing
1:20.6	resolution which determines the rules for how this Senate will run, including
1:24.8	things like committee leadership, committee ratios, and office space.
1:29.9	While this is not usually a big deal, Mitch has decided to make it one and use this as a bargaining
1:33.9	chip so that majority leader Chuck Schumer will formally commit to not getting rid of the
1:38.0	filibuster.
1:39.0	For those who are not familiar with complicated Senate rules, the filibuster is a rule that requires most legislation
1:44.4	to receive 60 votes in the Senate in order to pass.
1:47.8	This would make it easy for whoever has the majority status to easily pass anything they
