You know what they say.

New year? You got it. New laws.

Okay, maybe they don't actually say that, but it is true. And now that we've entered 2024,

there are a ton of new laws across the country. So I'm going to give you my favorite three and a tip at the very end of this update. First off, we'll go to California

where if you happen to get pulled over, the cop that stopped you can no longer ask if you

know why you were pulled over. They've got to tell you right away. The second law is kind of a

compilation because across the country, minimum wage is going up in a lot of places.

In fact, 22 states are raising their minimum wage for hourly employees, and a lot of them

are either at or over $15 an hour.

But my favorite law, when it comes to hourly earnings, comes from Alabama, where if you

work over 40 hours in a week,

those overtime hours are exempt from state taxes,
