The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know.

You know how on the bottom of almost everything we own there's that little Made in China tag. Well, pretty soon,

you might be seeing made in Mexico instead. For the first time in 20 years, China is not the number

one source of goods imported into the United States. That title now belongs to our neighbor to the

South, Mexico. There are basically three things that led

to the change. Number one, there's this thing called the North American Free Trade Agreement,

or NAFTA for short. And without getting super detailed, it's an agreement between us,

Canada, and Mexico that makes trading between the three countries easier. That was started by President George Bush Sr.

And then signed into law by President Clinton.

So it's been around for a while.

Then we can skip all the way to 2018.

When President Trump was in office, he imposed a bunch of tariffs on goods imported

from China, which drove up the cost of those goods for people like you and me,

which is actually one of the factors that's led to our current inflation issue.
