Hey there, from the KUOW Newsroom. This is Seattle now. I'm Patricia Murphy with a roundup of

today's top stories. It's Tuesday, December 9th. We're going to get another big

bout of weather. Major flooding is forecast for areas around western Washington between tonight and

Friday, and as Noel Gaska reports, communities east of Seattle are getting ready.

The city of Carnation sits at the junction of two rivers, the National Weather Service,

has issued flood warnings for, the Snoqualmie River and the Tollt River.

Rhonda Ender is the city manager for Carnation.

As roads get shut down due to flooding and drivers look for alternate routes,

Ender has straightforward advice.

If you see water, turn around.

Please be safe, better to stay home for a couple days than to go on a dangerous roadway,

and situations can change very rapidly.
