It's Tuesday, August 6th, also known as Primary Election Day.

Starting with your final reminder that ballots are due for the Washington primary election,

you've got to hurry.

Ballots are due by 8 p.m. tonight. If you haven't voted,

you are in the majority. Turnout statewide so far is about 20%. That will go up over the coming days,

but is about nine percentage points lower than we were at during the primary election in 2020,

the last presidential year.

Turnout for King County specifically is also about 20% right now. We checked in with Pierce County,

where it's even lower at this stage. Elections manager Kyle Hawks said their turnout so far is behind

the 2020 presidential primary turnout, but similar to 2022.

So we're really tracking to kind of meet that 2022 standard unless voters really surprised us

today and drop off a lot of ballots.
