The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know. One thing everyone in the lower 48 states has

in common, an insane winter storm. So the storm hit California this past weekend, canceling

6,000 flights and closing highways

in California and Nevada. And it's slowly making its way across the country, but it's not snow

everywhere. The South could experience severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and flooding, while Oregon,

Nevada, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming,

Colorado, and Nebraska are expected to have blizzard or winter storm mornings and two feet

of snow in some areas. A lot of snow. CNN's meteorologist said this winter storm is a true

coast-to-coast top-to-bottom impact that will be felt by every person in the country at some point this week.

There are winter storm alerts that stretch from Canada to Mexico right now.

And this is just in time for holiday travel.
