Seeing him back in the chair last night.

That was a nice surprise. That was great.

We have a lot to get to, including the breaking news,

about a major airline strike.

It's impacted so many people traveling right now.

We're going to have the latest on that.

But we begin with Hurricane Aaron. The major storm is on the move with states of emergency

and mandatory evacuations and effects in parts of the Outer Banks in North Carolina.

And that's where we find Victor Okendo with the latest for us this morning. Good morning, Victor.

Good morning, Michael. Everyone here is

under a mandatory evacuation order. We expect these waves to really start picking up today.

That is a major concern for a number of reasons. All of these homes behind me that are exposed,

they are very vulnerable, and that surf can start to destroy protective dunes and eventually

make roads impassable.

This morning the outer banks under mandatory evacuation orders.

Hurricane Aaron now measuring 600 miles across and could produce winds of at least 120 miles per hour.

New satellite images showing lightning flashing around its eye. Coastal areas

racing for waves of up to 20 feet. I think the biggest concern is this highway at sea level.
