There was another mass shooting yesterday and one of the two expelled lawmakers in Tennessee got his seat back.

That's some of what we'll get to on the 7th from the Washington Post.

I'm Jeff Pierre. It's Tuesday April 11th. Let's get you

caught up with today's seven stories.

First up, five people were killed in a shooting at a bank in downtown Louisville.

Eight others were injured yesterday morning.

A close friend of Kentucky Governor Andy Bashir was one of the people killed.

He spoke about it on the verge of tears in a press conference yesterday.

This is awful. I have a very close friend that didn't make it today and I have another close friend who didn't

neither and one who's at the hospital that I hope is is going to make it through.

The gunman was a 25 year old bank employee who was shot and killed by police.

Officials still don't know his motive.

The big picture here is that this was the 15th mass killing of

2023. Nearly 80 people have been killed in those incidents. Number two, the Justice Department appeal the Texas abortion pill ruling yesterday.

A judge suspended FDA approval of Mifferprisone last week.

Miffer Prisone is one of two pills used in the most common abortion method in the US.

The Justice Department asked an appeals court to put the ruling on hold before it takes effect

on Friday.

If the appeals court doesn't pause the order while it goes through its process or if it's slow in making a

decision the Justice Department could go directly to the US Supreme Court.

No matter what this issue will almost certainly end up at the high court. The case could change

abortion access across the country and it could threaten the FDA's authority.
