Summary

Tucker Carlson claims that Muslims love Jesus and are far more hospitable to Christians than say...Israel... the Pope has said that we need to be less fearful of Islam and that Lebanon stands as an excellent example of Christians and muslims living together in peace and mutual respect...but is it true? Today, we will carefully and respectfully examine the data to test these claims.

Hello, everyone, and welcome to making the argument. This is going to be an interesting one.

0:04.8

I'm anticipating a very interesting comment section on this one.

0:09.8

Christian and I'm going to go through this and we're going to be analytical in the way that we look at and process the data.

0:15.7

But there are certain statements that have been made by both the Pope and Tucker Carlson that I think need to be

0:22.1

addressed. And it has to do with Islam's disposition toward Christianity and toward the West.

0:29.3

And we're also going to address some of Tucker Carlson's statements with respect to Christianity,

0:34.5

not just in the Muslim countries in the Middle East, but also within

0:38.0

Israel. Because it's important to look at these things in context to try to figure out,

0:42.7

okay, is there something more to this? Are there certain things that we may have assumed,

0:46.5

that I may have assumed that we're incorrect? Are there certain statements that have recently

0:50.1

been made that should reshape the way that we look at this part of the world. And that's what we're going to go through and look at today.

0:56.6

So the first thing I want to bring up is a statement that was made by the Pope where he

1:01.7

essentially said that we should be less fearful of Islam.

1:05.0

And he also went on to say that one of the great lessons that Lebanon can teach to the world

1:09.6

is showing a land where Islam

1:11.0

and Christianity are both respected and that there is a possibility to live together

1:15.9

to be friends. So I can understand where the, I think the Pope is trying to come from here.

1:22.1

I'm not Catholic. I'm Protestant, but I'm not hostile toward Catholics. And I do see larger Christendom as brothers and

1:31.5

sisters in Christ. If you believe the same important doctrines with respect to the Trinity,

1:37.7

the crucifixion, propitiation for sins, Jesus being the way, the truth and the life,

1:43.0

no one comes to the father but through him. I think we can find general agreement within Christian doctrine, even though we do have some serious disagreements in other areas. And I just say this because I don't want anybody to think that I'm trying to attack the Pope, but I'm going to be honest. I don't understand what he's saying on some of these things, given the context, both of the history of Islam toward Christianity and things that are

2:02.6

currently going on in the world.
