terrific guest. Her name is Dr. Tina Atkins and she is a research associate at the

University of Texas at Austin here at the School of Social Work. We are

excited to have her because she has been specializing in attachment-based interventions throughout her career.

She received her PhD in theoretical psychoanalysis under Peter Fonigy and Patrick Luton from the

University of College at London and the Anna Freud Center. She has

developed an amazing amount of expertise that is going to help guide our

listeners into our ever-going pursuit of understanding attachment and how to develop the most secure attachment in ourselves and in others.

We today are going to talk about the idea of mentalizing.

In mentalizing, as she will discuss in much detail,

is one example of a way that we can actually

find to impact the way we ourselves and our kids can develop stronger skills and how to feel safer in the world right now, not with

your therapeutic and clinical intervention, but with short strategies for how to intervene and how we relate to ourselves

and to those we love.
