That was another thing that contributed to this and this sort of celebration of really

distorted wealth.

That's something that's also happened in the last 25 years.

I think we've always known sort of this distinction between having have not, but it's really

on display in a very, very sort of unique way and everybody almost feels entitled to participate

in it.

So it's really caused this friction that I think is also contributing to this larger scale

sense of entitlement and dysregulation and exteriorization and getting all your value

from the things that are outside of you.

Here's a bottom line, economics tell us everything, right?

Look at who makes the most money in a culture and that'll speak volumes.

Given how little we pay teachers, social workers, therapists, and frankly amongst medical professionals,

the three groups that get paid the least are psychiatrists, family medicine, and pediatricians.

So what does that tell us?

It tells us we don't value professions that are based on the vulnerable, that are based

on empathy, that are based on compassion.

It's almost like the higher the empathy index of a job, the lower it pays.
