When I've been with you on Sunday here, we're on a series that we're calling Try the Spirits.

Now, like one preacher said humorously, that's not like Baskin-Robbins.

Try all the flavors.

No, the word means test or examine.

And our text is 1 1 John 4 and 1.1. First John 4 and 1. He said, beloved, believe not every

spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.

Because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Now he mentions spirits, spirits.

What is a spirit?

Well, a spirit is not flesh and blood.

A spirit is an unseen entity.

And if you are a believer, and if you believe the Bible, you must believe in the unseen realm.

Yes.

Earlier in our study, you know, you hear people say sometimes, well, you know, if I can't see it, you know, I'm not going to, I don't believe it exists.

Well, that's an extremely foolish thing to say. We looked at the graph of even our natural spectrum of sight,

and there's all kind of wavelengths of light above and below what we can even see with our natural eyes.

It's there, but we can't see it.

But it's been proven many different ways that it's there. Well, if there's natural things we can't see, how could we be so adamant that if we don't see it, it doesn't exist?

That's a foolish thing to say. And it's obvious if you begin to just examine your life

and the way you operate and function. You can't see love, you can't see hate, you can't see

hate, you can see the results of it, the effects of it. You can't see joy.

You can't see peace.
