Summary

When it comes to the Olympics, we will probably never see a climbing competitor like Kyra Condie again. While other competitors in Tokyo have had the benefit of robust, government-funded national programs or boutique climbing teams, 25-year-old Kyra has spent the better part of a decade as her own coach and trainer while navigating the highest levels of international competition.

0:00.0	So welcome to climbing gold's coverage of the Olympics. It's about to happen. We wish we could be in Tokyo to cover the games and obviously aren't for various reasons.
0:10.6	Alex is going to be commenting from home. What we wanted to do on season two is take a step back and cover some of the stories that will get missed in the breathless Olympic coverage of
0:21.8	the competition. And, you know, you're going to hear a lot of glancing interviews with
0:25.8	athletes. And the climbers competing in the games, they've been training for years to get to
0:31.8	this point. And there's a lot of stories that surround that. And we were hoping to kind of dive
0:35.9	deeper into that. We've been talking to some of Team USA since they qualified more than a year and a half ago.
0:41.3	In season one of climbing gold, we looked at how trends and individuals push the sport forward.
0:46.6	And those trends are completely at play right now. But we wanted to really look at some of the individuals and dive a little bit deeper because
0:57.0	the individuals are the people that are giving it all right now.
1:01.0	And this was just a cool story about a young climber with an incredible will to reach her full potential,
