If we would trust God for our persecuted brothers and sisters in other countries, we must be diligent in prayer for their rulers. If we would trust God when decisions of government in our own country go against our best interests, we must pray for His working in the hearts of those officials and legislators who make those decisions. The truth that the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord is meant to be a stimulus to prayer, not a stimulus to a fatalistic attitude.” - Trusting God Trusting him when times get tough: “In the arena of adversity, the Scriptures teach us three essential truths about God—truths we must believe if we are to trust Him in adversity. They are: • God is completely sovereign. • God is infinite in wisdom. • God is perfect in love. Someone has expressed these three truths as they relate to us in this way: “God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom He always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.” - Trusting God “God does not willingly bring affliction or grief to us. He does not delight in causing us to experience pain or heartache. He always has a purpose for the grief He brings or allows to come into our lives. Most often we do not know what that purpose is, but it is enough to know that His infinite wisdom and perfect love have determined that the particular sorrow is best for us. God never wastes pain. He always uses is to accomplish His purpose. And His purpose is for His glory and our good. Therefore, we can trust Him when our hearts are aching or our bodies are racked with pain.”- Trusting God Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9 We need to trust in the Lord, not in man The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - Proverbs 29:25

0:39.3	I am speaking truth to myself in this episode today.

0:47.0	Because I don't know what it was about this week, but I hit a wall this week where I started feeling really discouraged. I feel like
0:57.9	so far this year in 2020, for the most part, I've done a pretty good job in making sure that I
1:07.9	keep coming back around to trusting in the Lord. I've had moments of
1:11.1	discouragement and I it's not in it's not in my strength I've done that it's not like oh kudos to
1:17.2	Jamie. God I think has really sustained me and I have made a good habit of going back to him.
1:23.7	I've I've functioned fairly well through 2020 with all of the insaneness that's going on.
1:29.6	But I hit a wall this week.
1:32.0	And I got to a point where I just started feeling really, really discouraged.
1:38.2	July is when everything really starts ramping up for the election.
1:41.9	Each election year, we are in an election year,
1:44.5	which everybody needs to remember because that's coloring everything. And there's just, I think
1:52.4	I hit this discouragement because things were opening back up. We're heading into summer.
