Rather, we must seek to let the truth of God rule our minds. Our emotions must become subservient to the truth.” - Trusting God 1. Start off your day with GOD not social media Before you check your email, hop on FB or turn on the news...first turn to the Lord. 2. End your day with GOD not social media 3. Surround yourself with the things of God more Listen to sermons when cooking or out for a drive Listen to Gospel Centered books that will help you have a better mindset Listen to hymns and other good worship songs SING those worship songs throughout your day Talk to your kids constantly about the hope we have in Christ 4. PRAY. Pray all the time. Daily. Hourly. Minute by minute. Feeling crushed and defeated? Stop. Open your Bible to the psalms and pray through them. When you feel like you have nothing to pray, let the psalms direct you. WHY pray scripture? “And when prayer is boring, we don’t feel like praying. And when we don’t feel like praying, it’s hard to make ourselves pray. Even five or six minutes of prayer can feel like an eternity. Our mind wanders half the time. We’ll suddenly come to ourselves and think, “Now where was I? I haven’t been thinking of God for the last several minutes.” And we’ll return to that mental script we’ve repeated countless times. But almost immediately our minds begin to wander again because we’ve said the same old things about the same old things so many times.” - Praying the Bible HOW to pray scripture: “To pray the Bible, you simply go through the passage line by line, talking to God about whatever comes to mind as you read the text.” “So basically what you are doing is taking words that originated in the heart and mind of God and circulating them through your heart and mind back to God. By this means his words become the wings of your prayers.”  -Praying the Bible

Hey, ladies, welcome back to my podcast. I know a lot of you guys have been waiting for this

0:24.9

episode because this is part number two in my little mini series on learning how to trust

0:30.8

in the Lord more. In the last episode, number 288, we really dove into what scripture has to say, or at least just a tiny bit of

0:40.4

what scripture has to say, on trusting in the Lord. I know this is a really big topic for so many

0:46.3

of us this year in 2020 and just in life in general. I have to say I have completely struggled

0:52.4

with trusting in the Lord and anxiety far before the year

0:56.9

2020. But everything is kind of coming to a head this year with really dealing with stress and

1:04.1

anxiety and not knowing what's going to come in the future and trusting in the Lord. And no matter why you're feeling

1:13.3

that anxiety or lack of trust or anything like that, it's a really good reminder for all of us

1:20.0

in where we are placing our trust and in our hope. And so if you need some biblical encouragement,

1:24.8

please go back and listen to that episode. I heard from so many of you

1:28.0

this past week that the episode was really impactful and really helpful. And so thank you for

1:32.4

reaching out and sharing that with me. The episode was really something that I was really needing

1:37.4

to tell myself at the time when I recorded it. This is what I was currently working through

1:41.6

and struggling and still am. So today's episode is kind of

1:45.6

part number two. We're going to take some of those principles and we're going to talk about

1:49.4

practical ways that we can grow in trust and peace because I know I need to trust, but actually

1:56.9

growing in that trust of the Lord can be really difficult. So I'm going to just talk about

2:01.9

some things that we can do to be proactive in that and some ways that we can help. And then in a
