The topic today is trusting the Lord, particularly through times of change. Now, some changes, a lot of

changes, are promotions. They're very exciting and not difficult to accept.

But even with positive changes like graduations, marriage, motherhood, there will be challenges.

And we must remember, this is not a defect. This is a designed feature. Challenges are good.

They stretch us, keep us growing, keep us trusting the Lord as we're growing up into Christ. Now, if we're looking to ourselves and leaning

on our own understanding, change can be intimidating. But if we're looking at change with

the eyes of faith, we can weather that

and even turn a profit on it and lean into it. Is God doing this? Then I can trust him. You may have

memorized Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, but now in this time of change is the time to really apply it very

deliberately.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.

Sometimes when we're very familiar with Bible verses like this, we can let them roll off our tongue when we're sharing them with someone else.

But we need to pause and actually apply these verses and believe these verses all the time.

And especially when we're stepping into the unknown territory that comes to us all as we grow up in age.

With age comes change. The Christian life, thank the Lord,

is not static. Each day requires fresh faith, fresh trust. It could be, you'll be enrolling your

child in school for the first time. This will be the first of many, many changes, or you're sending them off to college.

And of course, so many things have changed in between. But your role may have changed. You're now a

daughter in college or a mother with a daughter in college. You may be entering into a

courtship, and this is big new territory. Or you've quit your job to find something else to do, and you don't quite know what that
