Today's reading is from Revelation, Chapter 5, verse 5.

Then one of the elders said to me, do not weep.

See the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed.

So we begin by reciting God's goodness, praising Him for who he is and for what he has done in our lives.

Oh Jesus, we praise you for being the Lion of Judah.

So often it's easy to picture you as just a gentle and meek and humble man and you truly were those things, but no one picture or name can capture the beauty of who you are, Jesus.

Your courage and valor lay exactly in the reality that you restrained your power.

You controlled your divine strength.

And yet, you are the lion of Judah who presided. You controlled your divine strength.

And yet you are the lion of Judah who protects his own.

Those who stand behind you are safe and secure because a simple roar from the lion will blow away all who stand against you.

You, the lion of Judah, will scatter your enemies and will ensure that righteousness will dawn
