When a cult expert and her videographer husband moved to Short Creek, Utah, they made

friends with members of the polygamous Mormon breakaway group, the FLDS.

Christine Marie and Tolga Cadiz convinced an emerging leader and self-proclaimed prophet to take

part in a documentary.

But when the couple learned that Samuel Bateman was abusing and trafficking his underage

wives, they decided instead to use their intimate access to capture evidence of his crimes

and free his victims. The Netflix documentary series, Trust Me, the False Prophet, follows Marie as she pivots from

Confidon and Documentarian to investigate her, as she helps authorities build a case against

the fundamentalist cult leader who's invited her into his home.

Featuring interviews with FLDS members and exclusive video from inside this insular

community, trust me, provides a unique view on a story of coercion, abuse, faith, and redemption.
