herbalism I really love I or be that like the flat side of things when it comes to my

wellness products health care products or even like obviously skin care products as we talk about here and so the

brand I'm interviewing today I feel like is a really cool hybrid between the science meets the

herbalism. So without further ado I want to introduce you guys the founder of Blasoma, Julie Longyear.

Welcome to the show, Julie, I'm so excited to chat with you and to learn from you and explore the brand.

I am delighted to be here and it's always fun having conversations with other smart nerdy people who like science.

No, I really can't wait because as we were chatting earlier for we're listening, you know, Julie and I were discussing how much there is to talk about in this space of like herbalism and all the things I mentioned in the intro and so I can't wait to dive into that, but I would love to learn about you Julie and how you got into

skin care the background and all the fun stuff leading up to the brand you don't

mind.

Yeah absolutely so I am a bit of an unlikely beauty entrepreneur, quote unquote. I, it wasn't like when I was younger, I dreamed that I would be running a skin care brand. I, although I did use to sit in the bathtub as a kid and like blend my soaps together and make little commercials for them so I mean maybe there was a hint of what was to come in those experiences.

But basically, I've always had a very experimental exploratory mind.

I love just trying things, you know, where other people sometimes fear failure,
