I'm seeking immediate negotiations to once again discuss the acquisition of Greenland by the United States.

President Donald Trump just addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Covered a lot of familiar territory.

The US's economic strength, the 2020 election he falsely claims was rigged, a tirade against windmills.

He also made some new comments, though, on his efforts to control Greenland.

This was significant.

Trump seemed to rule out using force to take the self-governing Danish territory. That's probably the biggest statement I made, because people thought I would use force.

I don't have to use force. I don't want to use force. I won't use force.

He also slammed Europe, saying some parts of the continent are, quote, not even recognizable.

Meanwhile, a group of European Parliament members have just blocked a vote that would have approved a European U.S. trade deal.

It follows Trump's efforts to take Greenland and his threats to enact tariffs on countries that oppose him.

It's unclear if the entire agreement is now sidelined or if the parts that have already gone into effect will continue.
