Minnesota Governor Tim Walls says President Donald Trump has agreed to consider reducing the number of federal agents in the state.

That's after a call between the two leaders earlier today, where Trump struck a notable shift in tone.

On truth social, Trump said he and Walls seemed to be on a similar wavelength and that

Walls called with the request to work together.

Trump says he also facilitated a call between Walls and Bordersard Tom Homan, who the president

is sending to Minnesota after a man's deadly encounter with federal agents. On Saturday,

ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot and killed, drawing crowds of angry protesters. A federal law

enforcement source says investigators have interviewed the agents involved, and a senior

Department of Homeland Security officials says they're reviewing the agent's footage. Three sources

say top border patrol

official Greg Bovino and some of his agents are expected to leave Minneapolis tomorrow. CNN has reached out to DHS for comment.

Today, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt blamed Democratic leaders in Minnesota for the latest

shooting. As President Trump said yesterday, the administration is reviewing everything with respect to the shooting,

and we will let that investigation play out.

But let's be clear about the circumstances which led to that moment on Saturday.

This tragedy occurred as a result of a deliberate and hostile resistance by Democrat leaders in Minnesota.
