Good morning. It is Sunday, September the 7th. I'm Ali Velshi. Some troubling developments in the last 96 hours,

0:12.3

as four of the most senior people in the executive branch have signaled that they and the U.S. military are above the law as long as whatever they do is in service of the wishes of Donald Trump. This isn't hyperbole. On Tuesday, the U.S. military are above the law as long as whatever they do is in service of the wishes of

0:21.8

Donald Trump. This isn't hyperbole. On Tuesday, the U.S. surveilled a boat until it entered international

0:27.6

waters and then conducted a military strike on it. The administration says the boat was carrying

0:32.6

drugs from Venezuela with the final destination for those drugs eventually being the United States.

0:38.1

The administration claims 11 people were on board that boat, people it describes, as

0:42.9

narco-terrorists. Importantly, they were not given a chance to surrender. They were apparently

1:17.4

quote, instead of interdicting it, meaning intercepting it on the president's orders, we blew it up,

1:22.9

and it will happen again. We're not just going to hunt for drug dealers with a little fast boat

1:27.2

and say,

1:27.7

let's try to arrest him. No, we're, the president has said he wants to wage war on these groups,

1:33.6

end quote. Defense Secretary Pete Huxeth says President Trump is willing to go on offense in ways

1:39.6

that others have not been and won't stop with just this strike. Anyone else trafficking in those waters

1:45.0

who we know is a designated narco-terrorist will face the same fate, end quote. And Vice President

1:51.1

J.D. Vance says, quote, I mean, the legal authority, and I want to talk about these kids, is that

1:55.9

there are people who are bringing literal terrorists who are bringing deadly drugs into our country,
