And good morning. It's Sunday, September the 7th. Yesterday, thousands of people took to the streets of Washington, D.C. to protest the federal government's unwanted and unwelcome intervention in that city. The event was dubbed, We Are All D.C.

And it was the largest organized demonstration yet rebuking Donald Trump's militarization of the nation's capital.

This is the fourth week that the National Guard troops have been stationed around D.C. It's the second city where he's sent in the military under the guise of combating crime.

And if he has his way, D.C. is not going to be the last. Yesterday, Trump posted

this AI slop threatening military action in Chicago depicting, depicting himself as Robert Duval's

character from the Vietnam War movie Apocalypse Now, rebranding it as Shypocalypse Now,

with military helicopters flying in the, you know, in the back of him, in the city on fire. It was captioned,

quote, I love the smell of deportations in the morning. Chicago about to find out why it's called

the Department of War, end quote. Now, just remember, this was kind of a fake change of name that

Donald Trump signed on Friday. But for weeks now, residents of Chicago have been

preparing for the possibility of troops on their streets and an increase in ice raids. But yesterday,

they showed they will not let this happen without a fight. Just like in D.C., thousands of protesters

flooded the streets of Chicago last night to stand up against Trump and his authoritarian attempt

to take over another major urban area.

Just the latest sign that Americans are unhappy with how things are going.

A revealing brand-new NBC news poll just released this morning sheds more light on the widespread

unpopularity of Donald Trump's agenda.

57% of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump's overall job performance so

far. The majority of respondents also said they disapproved of how Trump has handled basically every

issue that was asked about in the poll. Sixty-one percent disapprove of his handling of inflation

and the cost of living. Fifty-nine percent disapprove of Trump's tariffs and trade policies.
