I've always wanted to say, I've made no secret of the fact. It's such an exciting run-up,

but I have to warn you, it's kind of boring. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm disproportionately

interested in how cultural artifacts, like novels and movies, speak to the sprawling stories

of Thanos, I mean Trump. When trying to collect my thoughts, you guys know I'm as likely

to do the right thing or the Avengers do the collecting of thoughts for me, then to leave

those sprawling thoughts to my own poor powers to add or detract. I've never once studied

political science, what is political science? And yes, I did that wasteful PhD in English,

and thus, I'm forced by trade to think that fiction as an organizing principle is better

than fact. And fiction as fiction is the best. Study a lot of novels and poetry, and you're

way less likely to become enchanted by the thin, dry fiction with that adderol effect,
