Summary

President Trump likes to keep everyone on their toes. He has repeatedly proven to say things that (in the end) were perhaps never meant to be taken seriously in the first place. Sometimes the president's statements contain terrible ideas, like the U.S. owning Gaza. But at other times, his statements are pretty incredible, like the U.S. cutting military spending by 50% if Russia and China agree to do the same. Today on the Liberty Report, we cover the latter statement, which would be a huge positive for our nation, were it ever to come to pass.

Great to be with you, Dr. Paul.

Very good. There's lots to talk about.

0:14.0

None of it's very important because it just deals with, you know,

0:17.0

a small number of trillions of dollars.

0:23.3

facetious or not, but there's good stuff going on. I think there's people in this new

administration. It's very, very sincere. Some days I become very cynical and say, yeah, I've

0:36.0

heard that before, but I do think it's different

0:38.6

this time than ever before, and yet there's the spending, it looks like it's going to continue.

I came across an article that said that the House wants to raise the debt to limit by a, but the Fed spending by $150 billion and that's the Senate and the House 100.

So they're already talking about increasing it. But what do they want to do this? How did they? I thought we were having trouble even keeping the government open. So they have to

1:13.6

raise the debt limit to be correct. They don't want to, you know, disobey the rules and regulations

1:20.7

they have. So in these bills they're proposing, they're still in early discussion, they could be

1:27.0

higher, they could be lower

1:28.5

but the principle seems to be that they need to raise the debt limit and they need to cut spending

1:34.3

and uh the proposals though uh when they want to increase the spending is uh for the military for

1:43.0

so-called defense.

1:45.0

I don't call it defense.

1:46.0

I call it offense.
