President Trump is threatening to cut federal funding to California over transgender athletes competing in youth sports.

L.A. Times reporters say Trump blasted Gavin Newsom in a social media post, calling it illegal to let transgender athletes compete in cross-gender sports.

This follows a recent California high schoolers win in the

girls' long jump and triple jump that made waves nationwide. California receives billions in

federal education funding, money that supports things like school meals, disability programs, and

help for low-income students. Trump's threat could reach beyond just education,

impacting disaster relief and housing funds. Newsom has called this issue in sports deeply unfair,

but hasn't yet responded to Trump's new threat. U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

just shook up the nation's COVID-19 vaccine

recommendation. Mike Stobb reports that he declared COVID shots are no longer recommended

for healthy children or pregnant women. He posted a video on X, saying annual boosters were being

pushed for kids without enough clinical data. This move goes against CDC officials who have been recommending boosters for everyone six months and older.

The CDC advisory panel was already set to meet in June to review false shot recommendations,

but Kennedy didn't wait.

Last week, the FDA also announced routine COVID vaccine approvals

will be limited to seniors and younger people at risk.

This marks a big shift in our country's COVID policy

that could affect millions.
