Summary

Trump and Republicans force through an enormous budget bill that extends tax cuts for the wealthy. Brian interviews Senator Elizabeth Warren about her efforts to defeat the Republican bill, CA governor Gavin Newsome on his new lawsuit against Fox News for (surprise!) their defamation and lies, and Democratic congressman Robert Garcia regarding his efforts to preserve fairness as the new ranking member of the House Oversight Committee.

As of late Saturday night, when I'm recording this, Republicans, of course, manage to scrounge

0:26.9

together enough senators to pass the most unpopular budget bill in modern American history.

0:31.9

This is a bill that has the support of only a third of Americans.

0:59.3

I mean, we can't be cutting health care for working people and for poor people in order to constantly give special tax treatment,

corporations, and other instances. And we've delayed that in this bill.

1:13.6

But unless we take further changes or take for the steps, it will happen in future years.

1:19.6

1:24.6

And I just, the Medicaid stuff in the year, I think it's bad. I think we've,

1:28.4

we've delayed the worst of it. And in the short term, for my state, you know, it's going to be

1:33.5

fine. But we, on going forward basis, we can't up a lot like this. I think the party has a lot

1:39.3

of thinking to do. Wow. Some earnest critique of his own party's bill. And yet, you know how Holly really drove that message home?
