Let's jump right into the news of the day.

Nizu actually sent me this piece, so she has to have takes on it.

There's a recent analysis from the New York Times, which finds that the Democratic Party is

hemorrhaging voters long before they even go to the polls in the words of the subhead of the 30 states that track voter

registration by political party. Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single one between

the 2020 and 2024 elections, often by a lot. They also have registration disadvantaged for

the first time in at least five years

abuse data.

And so there's a bunch of big red flashing warning signs for the Democrats in terms of

registration.

A lot of people say registration doesn't matter.

And I think there is an interesting question to hear about, is this about a decline

in partisan identification versus a decline in willingness to vote?

But it is part of this broader

changing electorate that we talk about a lot on the show and that we're very interested in

that transformation. So I want to throw it to the panel. What do we make of this headline?
