And Trump says these things all the time that can't possibly be true.

And I think some people take the, if you're taking Trump literally on stuff, you're doing it all wrong.

But I think he thought, Ethan, this Ukraine, Russia thing was going to be a little easier than it's proving to be.

Yeah, turns out you can't waltz in with the American bravado and then suddenly solve a very unstable conflict.

And I think he thought that if I just strike a tone of convincing Putin, I'm kind of on his side, which you know my feeling on all this,

which is we should have nothing to do with it. It's not our issue. We're not the world's policemen.

Russia, we have a vested interest in Russia being an ally with us. We are going to get way more out

of Russia being our friend than pissing them off, see the last four years and how that's worked out.

We actually do have numerous areas where we have mutual agreement fighting terrorism, Islamic terrorism, et cetera, with Russia.

And I think the whole way we've handled all of Ukraine has been a colossal mistake.
