The Federal Bureau of Investigation is crucial to maintaining the rule of law in America.

The FBI's immunity from political partisanship is key to public confidence in the integrity of the justice system.

But this is an era of hyper-partisanship.

President Trump now claims the Obama administration used the FBI

trying to discredit his campaign for the White House. He is demanding that his own Justice

Department investigate the investigators. We'll start there with Frank Buckley. He's professor

at George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School. He's author of The

Republic of Virtue. Now we tried to ban corruption, failed, and what we can do about it. Welcome to our

podcast. Well, thank you very much for having me. I suspect I'm the odd man out because in all of this,

I don't know that anybody is really misbehaved. Instead, what we've seen is a lot of suspicion thrown at people, but without a lot of evidence

to back it up.

I think it's not unreasonable to ask what FBI source Stephen Helper was doing, questioning some

of the Trump people.

Stop, stop right there, and tell us who Stephen Halper is.

Stephen Halper is a Cambridge Dawn, Emeritus, who is well-known in intelligence circuitals,

and who went out of his way to speak to some Trump foreign policy people, which in itself is not surprising,

because after all, you know, Trump was going to be the nominee and who the heck are these people.

But, you know, if the FBI put them up to that, that's simply something we'd like to know.

Well, President Trump has tweeted that he was a spy. Put there early in the campaign, never

reported, he adds a collusion of Russia because there was no collusion. He says he was only there

to spy for political reasons. Is there evidence for that or not?
