Let's get all ready for a constitutionally correct episode with the man you've read in the New York Times and Time magazine.

You should already own the oath in the office, a guide to the Constitution for future presidents.

And his most recent book is The Presidents and the People, five leaders who threaten democracy and the citizens who fought to defend it.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome the star of our show around Brown University.

They call him the Mac, Professor Corey Brechtnyder. Hello, Professor. Hello, John. Thanks for that intro. They get better every time. And thanks for that. Sure thing. Ask some of your students what the Mac means. I want to go to congratulations here. The Presidents and the People, your most recent book, Professor, has been named a finalist

for the Silver Gaville Award for Books by the American Bar Association. Congratulations.

Thank you, John. It's an honor. I'm humbled and I'm included in the list not just this year,

but in previous years with some of the most important books written about not just constitutional

law, but law generally. And most importantly, the message of the book, which is both honest about

the crisis of democracy throughout American history and the danger of the presidency, but as

importantly and maybe more importantly for the moment, it's about hope. This is a chance to get that

message out, as is this great podcast with you. So it's an honor, and I'm most excited that it'll get

the book in more people's hands. Well, me too. Congratulations on the honor. I'm looking forward

to my book coming out this summer and again, hopefully being banned in Florida by November.

That's, for me, that's like a book award. I have to say, John, your book has one of the best titles.

Maybe I've ever heard, certainly the best title about constitutional law I've ever heard. And I think people

remember, but maybe you want to remind them. My book coming out this August from Simon & Schuster
