So big day in Washington, D.C. is Trump and Zelensky and other European leaders are set to meet here coming up later in the day.

Obviously Friday.

It was Trump and Putin in Alaska.

And I'll tell you what, Jerry, they did something smart over the weekend, maybe the Trump administration.

They kept Trump away from the reporters as far as I

could see. And they sent Rubio to the talk show circuit. And he is really good at his job.

Oh, he's, he might be one of the best people at his job within this administration. I don't think

there's, you're going to be very hard pressed to find a better person in, in a position in this administration is better than Rubio. Yeah, I mean, he is perfectly fit for that position. There's a lot of people Trump has that he appointed them or picked them because it's like, oh, there's celebrity or whatever. And I think Rubio is actually really good at, at that, at that job. and so he did all the all the talk shows over the

weekend i mean he was on like four or five of them and he's just a really good he's a really good

consistent messenger and what will be fascinating aside from a little place on this audio here um from ruby over the weekend but what will be fascinating, aside from one place in this audio here from Ruby over the

weekend, but what will be fascinating is as we look to the next election, because I think

Rubio now and Vance are the two most closely associated with Trump.

And if you're a Trump-only type of voter, those are probably the two guys you're going to look at. And it will be interesting to see how that, because both of those guys want to be president. I'd add DeSantis to that list. Who's kind of Trump-Light? Yeah, the problem for DeSantis is his campaign was so bad the last time. And you're looking at two years where he won't be in the spotlight. Like he's not going to be able to do anything from a governance perspective. But I agree. I think those are your, I think it's those three. If DeSantis gets in and then everybody else. But man, Rubio is just perfect. Like we're going to play several of these clips. And the consistency in the messaging and the way he relays it is so good.

So the first one is from Fox News.

He was on with Maria Bartaroma and was talking about, and this was a wide-ranging interview,

but he explains because Trump is the left, some of these squishy Republicans, they're up in arms that Trump even took the meeting. And I thought Rubio did a good job of explaining why Trump took the meeting with Putin. If at some point it becomes clear that both sides are so far apart and so dug in that we're just not near a peace deal, then the president don't have a decision to make about how much more time do we invest in it and what actions does he take then. But I want everyone to understand if this morning the president woke up and said, I'm putting these terrible, you know, strong sanctions on Russia, that's fine. It may make people feel good for a couple hours. But here's what you're basically saying. You're saying talks are over for the foreseeable future, for the next year or a year and a half, there's no more talks because there's no one else in the world that can talk to him. Okay. Putin's not going to meet with Macron. He's not going to meet with the UK with all due respect to these leaders. None of these leaders are going to be able to bring him to the table and talk to them. There's only one leader in the world that has any chance of bringing these two sides together. If there is a chance, there's only one leader in the world that can do it, and that's President Trump. And you forfeit that role the minute you put additional sanctions on it, we may get to that point, unfortunately. But if we do, it means that peace talks are no longer possible. And that would be very unfortunate because the real world ramifications
