Tonight, the Trump administration says its $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund is dead,

yet today Trump's DOJ refused a court order to formally kill it.

Plus, a public he said, she said fight breaks out on the world stage,

eliminating yet another leader from Trump's dwindling list of European allies.

Then tonight's nightlight are the words of a 19th century English poet

that have been passed down from generation to generation

to become a source of enduring light for black Americans

against those who try to erase them from our history.

Seems like under this administration we get a near daily reminder of how backward we've become as a nation.

Up is down, left is right, the guilty or innocent and the innocent are indicted.

Case in point, Donald Trump's $1.776 billion anti-weaponization fund, which

seemed like it was dead after it received enormous backlash from across the political spectrum.

Lawsuits were filed. A judge issued an injunction, blocking it indefinitely from taking effect.

And the acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, testified in front of Congress

that the administration will not move forward with the fund. But when the judge asked the

Department of Justice to submit a sworn declaration that the fund was dead, which was due today,

the Department of Justice refused. It argued that Blanche's congressional testimony was good enough and that, quote, such declarations

are unnecessary, end quote.

Now skepticism about Donald Trump's intentions are valid.

Even after the overwhelming backlash from his own party became undeniable, he said in an interview

that he still thought the fund is, quote, a great idea,

and that if it didn't get approved, he would be, quote, disappointed. But when the DOJ is led by someone like Todd Blanche, who was serving as one of Trump's personal attorneys just a couple of
