It looks like former President Donald Trump is headed back to the White House. As of early this morning, Trump has secured 267 electoral votes,

just three shy of the 270 needed to win the race. He won key swing states that went for President

Biden four years ago, like Pennsylvania and Georgia. He also won North Carolina that was

considered key to a Republican victory. At this point, for Vice President Kamala Harris to win,

she would have to take almost every state that's still counting ballots,

including Republican stronghold Alaska.

If these results hold up, Trump will become only the second to win in non-consecutive terms.

He'll also be the oldest person ever elected,

and he'll be the first candidate elected after being convicted of a felony.

Trump spoke to a large crowd at his campaign headquarters early this morning where he claimed victory.

He promised a new golden age for the United States, saying he'll fix the situation on the border, make the U.S. safer, and strengthen the economy.
