your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, inside Trump's

meeting with Senate Republicans. Number two, what to do about the debt limit. And number three,

Donald Trump Jr. is hosting a big inauguration fact. All right, Jake, let's get into it. The big

meeting on Capitol Hill yesterday was, of course, when President-elect Donald Trump came to the Capitol.

And that was Senate Republicans.

And it felt like a foreshadowing in some ways to me about the drama and the disagreement that Republicans are already facing, despite the fact that they control

the House Senate and White House going into what is, you know, the biggest legislative,

high-stakes battle that they're going to face in the early days of the Trump administration.

And there still is not alignment here on strategy.

Senate Republicans trying to push Trump, several of them, including Senate Majority Leader Thune,

to go with that two-prong strategy. He stuck to Speaker Mike Johnson's thoughts saying, you know,

that one bill was the big beautiful bill

was the best bill. But interesting that there's precious little time for them to waste and

they still are not all on the same page. Yes. So listen. So what became clear in this meeting

last night, which Andrew and Max did such a great,

such a big, beautiful job covering, is that we have a president-elect who doesn't really care
