Donald Trump made some news yesterday that didn't have to do with Jeffrey Epstein.

In fact, I think he would rather make news on any other subject, but he made news on Epstein as well.

This has to do with Jerome Powell.

He has been, the president, I should say, has been denouncing Powell, calling him a knucklehead,

saying he would not be unhappy if Powell resigned.

And here's the thing.

Donald Trump, talking to reporters at length in the Oval Office,

said he was surprised.

He was surprised that Jerome Powell was appointed the chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Pause, three, two, one, the person who appointed Jay Powell to run the Federal Reserve was President Trump.

It must have slipped his mind.
