But as the 2024 presidential election looms on the horizon, there has never been a more important time to have the necessary conversation.

Welcome to the necessary conversation. I'm Chad Colchin with me. As always, is my sister,

Haley Pope, a fellow lefty, and my parents, Bob and Mary Lou, who are open, proud Trump supporters, and they have a lot to be

talking about this week. Mom's got on her Biden hat today. Read it to everybody. My mom is wearing a hat

that says, fuck Biden. Congratulations on your fashion choices. So we've got a lot to talk about, but before we get to it, as we do every episode, we have a little opening, a little appetizer to the main course, if you will.

This week, we're going to do an opening complaint.

This is where one of us gets to speak openly about something they think is wrong with society, something

that could be fixed.

This week it goes to my sister, Haley.

I had to save this so I wouldn't get the verbiage wrong.

So my complaint is specifically about Texas, the state in which I live.

Transgender health care community targeted in a new slate of Texas

bills. So I know transgender people, some of them very close to me, lots of friends in the

LGBTQ community. So Texas at this point is like full on attack on this group of people. And during transgender awareness week,

no less. So I'm just going to read you really quick, the House bills that they're introducing.

It's absolutely terrifying. This is in the Texas State House. Texas, yes. So House Bill 42,

gender affirming care defined as child abuse. So this means if you are under 18 and you are wanting to transition, if your parents help you with any kind of gender affirming care, they can now go to prison for child abuse. House Bill 643, drag shows deem sexually oriented.
