But as the 2024 presidential election looms on the horizon, there has never been a more important time to have the necessary conversation.

lefty sister, Haley Pope, and my two Maga Republican parents, one of whom is wearing a

Trump 2024 hat, Mary Lou and Bob Colchin. Today's episode is going to be probably a little

crazy. We have just come out of one of the most important midterm elections in the history of our

country with some very surprising results.

So before we begin, before we get into any questions, I'm just going to read some facts about this election that we have just had.

These are facts.

A lot of interesting groundbreaking firsts have come in these midterm elections.

In Massachusetts, Mora Healy is poised to become the state's first elected female governor

and the nation's first out lesbian state executive.

Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former Trump White House press secretary, has been elected

as the first female governor of Arkansas.

Wes Moore is Maryland's first black governor.

Alabama's Katie Britt, a Republican former aide to retiring Senator Richard Shelby,

will replace him next year to become the state's first female U.S. senator.

Democratic state rep Summer Lee will be the first black woman elected to Congress from Pennsylvania.

Rua Rahman, a 29-year-old community organizer, made history as the first known Muslim woman elected to Georgia's House of Representatives

and the first Palestinian-American elected to any office in the state.
