Hello and welcome to the Daily Beans for Thursday October 27th 2022. Today the Department of Justice has several felony charges pending in Arizona related to election threats. Donald Trump has been officially served with his January 6th Committee subpoena.

The Department of Justice and Trump's lawyers have agreed on the issues for the special master to review and a briefing schedule. The Arizona GOP leader Kelly Ward and her husband Michael have appealed their phone records being released to the January 6th Committee to the Supreme Court and Justice Kagan has granted that stay.

Three men were found guilty on all charges in their plot to kidnap Governor Whitmer. Republican rep Scott Perry has dropped his lawsuit seeking to get back what the government got when they confiscated his phone. The DC Appeals Court has set oral arguments for the E. Jean Carroll case for January.

Mark Meadows is ordered by a Georgia court to testify to the Fulton County special grand jury. The Department of Justice has asked Judge Barrel Howell to force Pat Filben and Pat Sepaloni to testify to the grand jury investigating the coup. And we now know what Dinesh D'Souza removed from his 2000 mules book after the first publication. I'm Allison Gill and I'm Dana Goldberg.

Dana, that's a record. That's it. Holy shit, Paul. When you sent me the script, I was like, we're breaking it. We're breaking it.

That was a minute and 13 seconds.

Boom. And I'm trying to figure out how we're going to get through this show.

You remember last night at the end of the show, I was just sort of contemplating like, I wonder what tomorrow will bring you did. You remember I felt yesterday that today would bring a lot and holy fuck, it's a record.

Some quick news bites later in the show, I'm going to be talking with Liz Robbins. She's the director of journalism partnerships at Define American. She just completed this amazing research study on what the mainstream media doesn't report when it comes to immigration issues.

Trump has officially been served his subpoena from the January 6 committee. So he has it. I'm sure he's going to take a picture and put it on social media.

Yeah, I just send it down to Marlago and put it in the basement.

Yeah. And then Kelly and Michael Ward, like I said, they filed for an emergency stay to the Supreme Court pending their appeal of the case that they, you know, they're tried they filed a lawsuit trying to block the January 6 committee from getting their phone records.

And the appeals court said, no, and said you have to give the stuff over the January 6 committee. And they said, okay, we're going to appeal to the Supreme Court.

And so therefore we're asking for an emergency stay while we appeal. This is the same thing that happened with Judge Clarence Thomas and Lindsey Graham with his testimony in Fulton County.

Now, I was kind of trying to tell everybody like it's cool, you know, Justice Thomas is an asshole and he should recuse himself, but it is very normal to grant an emergency stay pending appeal.

Because if you don't grant that stay and your force to give your phone records over, your appeal is moot. It robs you of your right to appeal to the Supreme Court.

And we do not want to rob people of their rights. And in this case, Justice Hagen granted the stay pending appeal. So, you know, it's just sort of kind of goes to show that, you know, it's balanced.

Actually, this is good because it makes the Supreme Court look less partisan than it is, even though it is. So I like it. I'm okay with that.

That and, you know, just because we have rights doesn't mean that they shouldn't apply to asshole coupplotters.

100% I still hope they go down for this.
