Donald Trump's threat to forcibly deport the entire surviving population of Gaza has been widely discussed, although often in quite

disturbing ways, a lot of the Western media reporting has been, you know, using clinical,

euphemistic terms like proposal, for example, you know, as though this is like a business proposal

for discussion rather than a heinous criminal act. But it has been often discussed, including by

those of us who oppose Israel's genocide, in terms of being ethnic cleansing. Now, this is really important, this discussion with Heidi Matthews, who I've interviewed

before, and I often look to on issues to do with international law.

She's an assistant professor of law, Osgood Hall Law School at York University,

and someone who's just been giving exceptional legal commentary

all the way through this particular horror and has raised very important, I think,

critiques of using the term ethnic cleansing in this context and why we should be talking

about genocide. Obviously, we have many of us be using genocide full stop,
