through the Iran War. Number two, how reconciliation could go wrong. And number three, what House

Democrats are up to. So kicking it off today, we're in the second week of congressional recess and

Republican leadership in both chambers are lucky that Congress is out

of town this week. They would have to tackle plenty of hard questions as the Department of Homeland

Security enters its 51st day of being shut down. That, by the way, is the longest for any

government agency ever. House GOP leaders aren't planning to come back into session until next week

for action on a

Senate-passed bill that would fund all of DHS except ICE and customs and border protection. President

Trump issued an executive order on Friday paying all DHS employees that he hadn't done earlier

with his TSA emergency order earlier that week. This has eased a little bit of pressure among

Republicans to get a long-term solution, but nonetheless they still need to come to one.

Speaking of Trump, he's been pretty difficult to understand, especially on the Iran war.
