Democracy is under attack in North Carolina. Again, the Republicans already tried once.

They tried to nullify the win of the state Supreme Court Justice Alison Riggs, the Democrat.

In order to have their candidate, Jefferson Griffin, the Republican, installed instead.

Jefferson Griffin lost that attempt. And so they're trying again.

This time the Department of Justice is doing the bidding of the Republican Party, doing the

bidding of Trump in order to scrub those voters from the voting rolls. My name is Dina Dahl with the Midas Touch Network.

Let's break this down. So as you know, Jefferson Griffin tried to have about 60,000 North

Carolina validly voted voters taken off the voting rolls, have their votes basically get thrown away in order for him to get

installed instead. As we know, North Carolina, the Supreme Court, is partisan. The justices there

are elected. They are not appointed. It wasn't always that way, but the Republicans changed that

years ago, and so they are all elected.

The Republicans see North Carolina as a must-win state. It has become more and more of a swing

state over the years. As we know, the Democrat won yet again, the governorship. Josh Stein is

currently the governor, a Democrat. The Republicans have

had a hard time winning the governor's race there. And in 26, the midterms, there will be a key

Senate race in North Carolina, as well as some House races. The Republican parties understand

that North Carolina is a must-win

state for them. They understand how much movement there is, how much growth there is there with a

Democratic Party. So what they're trying to do, instead of changing their policies, trying to maybe

give more FEMA aid for natural disasters,

or not take away people's health care, they are instead trying to make it harder for people

to vote because that's how they think they win elections.
