It's the media buzz meter with Howard Kurtz.

A lot of scandals and controversies here in Washington are complicated.

You've got dueling legal briefs, you've got footnotes, you've got evidence, you've got depositions,

you've questions about the judge, questions about the star witness.

This is true no matter who's involved.

Lately, all the scandals seem to be about digging up past social media posts in which various people now up for, or in some cases pulled from nomination for jobs, important jobs in the federal government,

and in state government as well, are having to explain away why did you say you had a Nazi streak and that sort of thing.

But for President Trump, there's two things that happened this week that were not complicated

in the sense that they're easy to grasp, easy to understand, and I think are in a whole

different category than a lot of the other whirlwind of allegations and accusations

that either he makes against his political foes or are made

against him. And so I dubbed this story number one, concentrated on a column on this today.

And look, you know, we already know that Donald Trump has taken on the media with lawsuits collecting,

just for example, 16 million or more from CBS and NBC.

We already know that he has told his Justice Department, who to indict, leading to the

criminal charges against Letitia James.

And James Comey.

We already know that he's taken over the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian and wants to take them in the non-woke direction.

We already know he's sent National Guard troops, first along with law enforcement here in D.C. and now in Chicago and in Portland, we already know that

he's taking on law firms to get them to change their policies, taking on universities,

to get them to change their policies or lose hundreds of millions of dollars in grants.

And the government shutdown now in its fourth week, it's not a secret. There's no secret memo you have to get.
