It's the media buzz meter with Howard Kurtz.

Whenever I'm on TV, invariably afterwards, I think to myself, oh, I should have mentioned this, or I wish I had time to get this in.

It's just a fact of life in dealing with the medium, but also it applies to a podcast

as well. So when I talked about the demolition of the East Wing of the White House, which we'll

get to in a moment, what I should have also mentioned is the bunker underneath has to be

taken into consideration. This is where the president

and, you know, top aides and family would hide out in the face of a horrible attack. Also, Barry Weiss,

with the sort of piece mocking her for having security around her, it hasn't been that long since the killing here in Washington of the Jewish couple who worked

at the Israeli embassy.

Barry Weiss is Jewish, and I'm sure for anybody who's Jewish, they would want to take note of such things.

So two things I'm meant to mention.

And I hope you have a good weekend coming up.

And I'm going to start with story number one.

I'm a huge basketball fan.

When I grew up in the asphalt jungle, we played basketball every day. And it was a very good incentive to win. Otherwise, you had to sit out and wait until your turn came around again. So everybody took it seriously. I was on a team, not the high school team, but a private league.

And we would have home games and away games.

And it's just, you know, it's in my blood.

So what's happened with the NBA is appalling, disgusting, sickening, and a scandal of enormous magnitude.

And at the same time, this is going to tarnish the National Basketball Association

for a long time to come.

I mean, it's on the magnitude of the Black Sox scandal in baseball of 1919. ESPN, for some reason, was the only

major networks, and this is a network devoted to sports that didn't have the live news conference
