For our first national politics segment of the week, we're happy that David Graham from the Atlantic is back with us.

Among his latest articles is his latest. Trump's latest gaffs could hurt the GOP. And by gaffes,

he clearly means the definition of gaff that the legendary journalist Michael Kinsley is very

associated with. A gaffe is when a politician accidentally blurts out what he really

thinks. One of Trump's on David Graham's list, when a reporter asked the president last week

whether he considers the rising price of gasoline and other things when deciding whether to

keep the Iran war going, not even a little bit, he replied, I don't think about Americans' financial situation.

I don't think about anybody, unquote. He said he only thinks about stopping Iran from having nuclear

weapons. We've talked about that on this show. But another one that David Graham now points to,

when a reporter asked the president how he would respond to black voters, worried the changes

to congressional districts, changes spearheaded by his GOP allies and urged on by his Justice

Department, would reduce black representation, he replied, quote, I think it's been a wonderful

process. Graham writes, this may have been another moment of imprudent honesty.

At least he's answering his 2016 question to black voters. What the hell do you have to lose?

Remember that part of his campaign for president? He said it a lot in ways like this.

Look how much African American communities have suffered under democratic control.

To those I say the following, what do you have to lose by trying something new like Trump? What do you have to lose?

Well, now they've lost most of the Voting Rights Act and are in the process of losing

much of the representation that goes with it. David Graham has been writing about other things,
