Could rates fall to the zero lower bound within the next seven years and metaplanets plan for its Bitcoin holdings?

President Donald Trump has delayed the tariffs deadline to August 1st from July 9th and has announced

new rates for some countries. Japan, South Korea, and South Africa will now face tariffs

of up to 40%. Bitcoin remains relatively unchanged this morning at around $108,8,850. Bitcoin

Bulls love to discuss liquidity easing through rate cuts and now new analysis from

the Fed Reserve banks of New York and San Francisco show a 9% chance of the benchmark Fed

funds rate falling to the so-called zero lower bound within the next seven years.

Data shows expectations for elevated interest rates, but the chance

of a zero level remains significant over the medium to long term, according to the report.

In the short term, however, the probability of rates falling that low in the next two years is

just 1%. You'll remember in 2020, 2021, rates fell back to zero, triggering an unprecedented bull run throughout financial

markets, including low-cap altcoins.

Metaplanet wants to use its Bitcoin holdings for acquisitions.

According to the Financial Times, the company with the largest corporate Bitcoin stash

outside of North America will use their Bitcoin as collateral to finance acquisitions

of cash- cash generating businesses.

The Japanese hotel company acquired 2,205 Bitcoin this week, increasing its holdings to 15,55

Bitcoin. The company is targeting 210,000 Bitcoin by the end of 2027.

And Hong Kong stable coin licensing regime is set to start on August 1st, with local media

in China reporting over 40 applications have been received.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, however, is likely to approve only a single-digit number
