Luke Karamazov by Conrad Hilberry was first published

in 1987. Unlike the other books I've featured thus far in this segment, this one is about a case

that's already been covered on So Dead, Serial Killer Siblings, Larry, and Danny Raines from Kalamazoo, Michigan. The only serial

killer siblings in American history that weren't a team. So we've gone over this, broken record,

but basically siblings have killed together before in a serial killer capacity, but this is the

only time that two completely separate

serial killers came out of the household in recorded history. And we're talking about them

again today because there have been some developments. And there's also a big part of the story

I somehow missed the first time around, and we need to talk about it.

So, quick refresher, Larry and Danny Raines were brothers, very close in age, ensconced in a lifelong game of sibling rivalry, dated the same women, married the same woman, got into a serial killing competition, and both wound up in prison for life.

Larry Raines, the younger of the two, who legally changed his name to monk Steppenwolf, recently won the sibling rivalry contest when Danny Raines died in prison earlier this year at the age of 78.

And I suppose that Larry also won in the sense that he was the main subject of the book, Luke Karamazov,
