Remarkable events in Brazil started just a couple of days ago in what might seem like a startling parallel to January 6th, January 6th of 2021.

You had thousands, maybe tens of thousands of resilience, storming the Congress, the Supreme Court, and the seat of the presidency, which is the Plano Alto Palace.

All of this occurred in a remarkable way. It seems to have taken the authorities by surprise. Now over the subsequent 48 hours, the protesters, the objectors have been evacuated.

Apparently, there have been about a thousand arrests. It seems that Brazil's political situation is in flux.

Now, there have been lots of people in America who are looking at the Brazilian situation purely through the lens of American politics.

Now, we have a tendency to do this. It is a tendency that should at least be somewhat resisted. We should be cautious about why?

Because things are going on inside the United States often have a vocabulary and an understanding that doesn't really apply in quite the same way.

Even when we use terms like Islamic fundamentalism, it's a little misleading because fundamentalism is a movement inside of Protestant Christianity.
