Hello, this is Owen Jones. Now, at the end of 2013, a mysterious rambling letter was

sent to Birmingham City Council, which seemed to set out a Islamist, extremist plot to

take over schools. Now, the problem was, it was a total, and I would say quite obvious

fake, but it led to a massive national scandal. Huge inquiries, massive media coverage,

changes in the law. Now, this scandal says a lot about modern Britain. It says a lot about

Islamophobia, it says a lot about amidia, it says a lot about our politics. And these two

brilliant journalists, Brian Reed and Hamza Said, have done this fantastic podcast with

serial New York Times called the Trojan Horse Affair, in which they do a huge amount

of investigative journalism. It's fun to listen to as well, which exposes what the scandal

was, what was really happening, and what it all really means. Now, the British media, much

of it, have no responded well. In fact, they've really been going for the podcast. So what

we've done is sat down with them both, and we've gone through the amazing, incredible

findings of the podcast, but also face down the critics. This is a must listen. I know there's
